Current Market Drivers:
🚢 Kpler expects LNG shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to remain constrained through year-end, limiting Gulf exports and slowing European storage injections.
📉 Analysts forecast Europe to enter winter with its lowest storage buffer in a decade, forecasting storage at just 65% by 1 Nov-26, keeping prices exposed to upside risk.
🕊️ Iranian diplomacy resumes, but Hormuz uncertainty keeps energy risk elevated. Trump said negotiations with Iran will begin on Monday, but declined to set a deadline for an agreement, easing immediate escalation fears after days of renewed military threats.
📉 Analysts have lowered China’s early-2030s LNG demand outlook by 14–22mt as renewables, domestic output and Russian pipeline gas expand. Softer Chinese demand could leave more cargoes available globally, adding bearish pressure to long-term LNG prices.
🌱 The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis reports that meeting the EU’s 2030 renewable energy and heat pump targets could reduce EU gas demand by around 25% from current levels and reduce its fragile dependence on LNG imports.
