How are electricity meters installed?
To enable the installation of an electricity meter, all we need is the KVA of the meter and its exact location. We’ll work with our network of approved metering partners to have your new electricity meter installed as quickly as possible.

The meters are the same, both measure the electricity consumption. Larger businesses may have a HH (half-hourly) meter which sends readings every 30 minutes.
No, smart meters are not compulsory but you can get one installed for free and they may help with energy monitoring
If it is domestic the MPAN will start with an 01 or 02; commercial will be 00, 03, 04. The MPAN is the meter number which can be found at the top of your bill.
