Flame UK are Highly Commended at the Midlands Family Business Awards

We’re incredibly pleased to be Highly Commended for both of our nominations at the Midlands Family Business Awards.

We were Highly Commended for Best Small Family Business, sponsored by Ward Recycling. This award recognises small family businesses throughout the Midlands. This award looks at how businesses are balancing the interests of the family and the business. As a business that puts family values at the core of everything we do, it’s an honour to have a nomination, but to be Highly Commended.

We were also Highly Commended for the Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by Recruit 2 You. This award focuses on how businesses are valuing employees and putting people at the heart of their business. There’s a strong focus on how the family values of the business contribute to improving workplace cultures and employee wellbeing. We want to be the employer of choice and constantly strive to provide staff with a workplace that enables their success.

It was also an honour to sponsor the Sustainability Award at this year’s event. When judging, we were looking for businesses whose mission aligns with ours – to build a more sustainable future. This award sets out to recognise businesses who are working towards a more sustainable future in every aspect their business – from their operations to their impact on the community.

The winners, Tyseley Energy Park, are a renewable energy park based in Birmingham. In their 300 years of operations, they have focused on delivering low and zero carbon solutions across Birmingham. We believe this aligns with our views and values as a business.

On judging the Sustainability Award, Martin Swift, Marketing and Sales Director at Flame UK, said: “It’s great to see so many companies taking sustainability so seriously. However, this made judging even more challenging. We admire every one of our finalists for their commitment to this cause. Congratulations again.”
